I Miss My Friend

This started out as any other week, the usual school-work routine followed of course by studying for finals that I thought for sure would just ruin my week.

However, little did I know that this would be one of the best times I've had in a LONG time. It's nice to have those good days/weeks every now and then, it really helps the morale and makes you feel that good things happen to good people too, LOL.

Monday: Tonight when I took my first final, I really felt prepared for it and was able to concentrate on the exam and I feel like I made at least a B on it, and I FINALLY figured out the missing elements to an assignment required for my Visual Basic final.

Tuesday: I turned in the assignment and took my exam early to get it out of the way. I ended up making an A on the final and ended up with an A in the class. Work was slow, but still found ways to entertain myself.

Wednesday: Simply AMAZING, my friend of 14 years, Jesse, and I went to Atlanta to see the “Warped Tour”. For those of you who don’t know what the Warped Tour is, it’s like an ALL-DAY concert with like 50 of your favorite bands. We walked around to the different stages to see our favorite bands play. We saw all of our favorite bands play, it was simply amazing. We caught acts like, “The Awkward Romance, Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Story of the Year, Thrice, The Offspring, The Transplants w/ special guest Travis Barker of BLINK 182, and so many more. Also, I had the chance to meet some of my favorite bands right now “Hawthorne Heights, Thrice, and MxPx”. The guys were extremely nice and signed autographs for MANY fans. The only bad thing about Wednesday was the fact that both Jesse and myself came home sunburned and tired, but all in all I think it was definitely worth the new look, LOL.

Thursday: I woke up late for my American Government final, the only one that I had been stressing. But, Dr. Tate understood the circumstances and allowed me to take the exam at like noon, and then work was slow so I came on home and rested some more. I feel pretty good about this exam, but Dr. Tate can be brutal when it comes to grading essays.

Friday: Today was really good, I mean… MSC’s Summer Session is over, and I finally have some FREE time to do whatever I want to do, well… at least until the 17th. Now it’s time to enjoy the weekend…

My only regret this week is that my friend Adam wasn’t there with us on Wednesday, he would have LOVED the scenery…

Ok, now that I have your attention let me tell you bloggers about my weekend. The majority of my "free" time was spent developing solutions for different networking problems for my final. But, besides that I was here reading up on "American Government"... It's sad really, but I have to think of it in the aspect of, "One more week, just one more week".

From a music standpoint, I bought some tickets to go see "Keane" with my friend Kimberly in September, 1 week after my birthday... woo hoo. She also helped rekindle my interest in "Nine Days". Hmm, other than that I've been listening to some STAIND and 3 Doors Down to get my psyched about their concert in September.

Well, I'm running out of ideas to write about so I'll let you bloggers get back to your "normal" lives. Have a Nice Day and God Bless.

Today's Theme: Friendship

"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."

INDEPENDENCE DAY

Well, it seems as though another year has come and gone and it's time once again to celebrate FREEDOM in America. As we gather with our friends and family to participate in the cookouts or fireworks displays, we should take a moment or two to think about what it really means to live in a FREE country.

I think many times, people look for holidays like Independence Day as just another day off from work or school, but I think of it as another opportunity to remember the sacrifices of so many men and women, so that I could grow up in a country where I am free to make my own decisions. I am in awe at the fact that for the most part, I can do as I please, without fear of being persecuted or publicly criticized for what I may choose to believe.

Although I'm not able to serve with the brave men and women of this country, I often think about the work and sacrifices they endure. In remembrance of the soldiers who have perished defending our freedom, and for those who work everyday to ensure the FREEDOM of Americans everywhere, I offer these words which I have found often bring me comfort in my trying times.

“God grant me SERENITY to accept the things I cannot change, COURAGE to change the things I can, and WISDOM to know the difference.”

Well, summer classes have started and I must say, it's not as bad as I had initially assumed. Although the session in themselves are a bit tedious, it's still a great learning experience and I'm meeting so many new and exciting people.
